MEANING:
​
  • so + adjective + that + sentence

    It's so dry in Monument Valley that they had to bring water in when they were filming Forest Gump.  CLICK FOR VIDEO
    ​
    He is so fat that he can't play tennis.
 
  • verb + so much + noun + that + sentence

    I ate so much pizza that I am sick.

  • verb + so many + noun(s) + that + sentence

    She has so many problems that she doesn't know what to do. 

  • to be + such + adjective + that + noun 

    He is such a good student that he won a scholarship.

EXAMPLES:  
(NOTE:  "that" doesn't have to be used, but for students, it is best to practice using "that")​
so + adjective
  • He is so rich that he can buy anything he wants.​

  • She is so obnoxious that no one wants to date her.
    ​
  • It is so cold that we aren't going to go to school.  (It is too cold to go to school.)
so much that
  • He works so much that he never sees his kids.
    ​
  • He talks so much that no one likes him.
    ​
  • He has so much money that he can buy anything.
so many that
  • He had so many problems that he was admitted to the hospital.​

  • They have so many cousins they can't remember their names.
    ​
  • I have so many students in my class that I can't do my job.  ​
such + adjective + noun
  • He is such a good student I am sure he will earn a scholarship to the university.
    ​
  • It is such a beautiful day, let's go to the beach.
    ​
  • Traveling today by air is such a pain in the neck, that I avoid it whenever I can.
too + adjective + verb + sentence   ​​ (used in the negative)
  • I am so fat that I can't play tennis.
    ​
  • I am too fat to play tennis.
