If and Would are usually used together;

"would" is used in many ways and you will have to learn all the 4 Conditionals.

Depending on situation "A", I would do X,
- I would buy a house on the beach if I were rich.
- If I were rich, I would buy a house on the beach.
If I were (pronoun), I would + verb.........
Giving a suggestion. This is used ALL THE TIME!!!
- If I were you, I would see the Doctor.
- If I were her, I would visit Washington, D.C.
- If I were him, I would work less.
- If I were them, I wouldn't live in Alaska; too cold.
EXAMPLES:
subject + would + main verb
- If I were you, I would study English in San Diego, California.
- Nasser would study in the US if he could get a scholarship.
- Would you like to work in Europe?
Yes, I would (Sure, Absolutely)
- I wouldn't live in Alaska if you paid me. Too cold!
- Would you please help me practice my English?
(the polite way to ask someone to do something for you)
